Ready Or Not 2 Trailer: Samara Weaving Is In A Game Of Sudden Death With New Millionaire Group

After six years of leaving audiences waiting for her next story, Samara Weaving's Grace is back in the first Ready or Not 2: Here I Come trailer. Weaving reunites with Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett for the sequel to the 2019 horror comedy hit, with the story expected to pick up sometime after the events of the first film in which Grace narrowly escaped the Le Domas family's attempt to sacrifice her to a demonic entity.

Alongside Weaving, Ready or Not 2 has assembled another star-studded cast, including fellow Radio Silence vets Kathryn Newton as Grace's sister Faith and Kevin Durand, as well as Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg and Elijah Wood, among others. The sequel, which hits theaters on April 10, will mark Searchlight Pictures' first film of 2026 as they aim to build on the cult following and box office success of the first.

Now, with a few months left until said release, Searchlight Pictures has unleashed the official Ready or Not 2: Here I Come trailer. The footage sees Weaving's heroine waking to find herself kidnapped by a group dubbed the "high council families," who force her into another game of hide-and-seek, this time with her sister in tow. Check out the trailer below:

While plot details have been kept under wraps until this point, the trailer finally confirms that the 2026 sequel will be taking place immediately after the events of its predecessor. With Grace being approached by the police in the first Ready or Not's ending, there were theories of her going to jail and being hunted for revenge while there, and others that pointed to her trying to live a quiet life, only to still be hunted by the new group.

Arguably the biggest takeaway from the trailer is why Grace is still being hunted in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, with the new rich people having to challenge her for essentially control of the world. As has been the case with both the first film and even their 2024 horror vampire-comedy Abigail, Radio Silence enjoy tackling the "eat the rich" theme of storytelling, and by expanding it to a global scale, the sequel could see them thematically taking down the upper class in a whole new way.

It also could open the door for future stories in the universe after Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. With the confirmation of there being plans in place for when someone survives a game of hide-and-seek, Radio Silence could run with this to tackle a variety of sequels, prequels and spinoffs of other survivors, as well as potentially expand the roster of twisted games the wealthy play beyond hide-and-seek.
