Brad Pitt’s Highest-Grossing Movie Of All Time Is Now Streaming For The First Time

By James Moore 12/13/2025

Over the last 30+ years, Brad Pitt has become one of Hollywood's biggest stars. Not only has he turned in several award-worthy performances that garnered Oscar nominations and produced Best Picture-winning films like 12 Years a Slave, but the 61-year-old star is also a certifiable box office draw.

His movies have made over $9 billion at the box office over the decades. Major franchises like the Ocean's films have contributed to that total, as have action movies like World War Z, historical epics like Troy, crime thrillers like Se7en, and animated movies like Megamind. Throughout his vastly successful career, the movie that sits atop the box office for him grossed $631 million.

That certifiable blockbuster hit is now streaming for the very first time following its unprecedented success in theaters.

As of today, December 12, F1: The Movie is now officially streaming. Pitt stars as racer Sonny Hayes who joins a Formula 1 team to help a young prodigy, played by Damson Idris, in the racing action movie directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick).

The movie has made its debut on Apple TV+ nearly six months after it first released in theaters, where it played in IMAX and became an international box office phenomenon. It earned $189 million domestically (13th highest of the year so far) and $631 million worldwide (8th highest total of 2025 to date).

F1: The Movie became Brad Pitt's highest-grossing movie where he has a lead or supporting role after surpassing World War Z's total of $531 million. Technically, Deadpool 2 could be considered the actor's biggest earner with its $786 million total, but Pitt only has a cameo that lasts a few seconds, so his involvement didn't really contribute to the film's success.

Why You Should Watch Brad Pitt's F1 Movie

Any fan of Pitt's who hasn't watched F1 should change that now that it is streaming on Apple TV+. The movie was warmly received by critics, earning a Certified Fresh 82% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences adore the film, with it "Verified Hot" on the Popcornmeter at 97%.

The strengths of F1 lie with Pitt's charismatic lead performance, the talent of the cast around him, the incredibly real racing scenes, the film's score and sound, and Kosinski's direction. It all makes for an incredibly engaging action movie that you won't want to miss.

It's the perfect film to watch if you love real Formula 1 racing or racing movies in general. It's not quite the action movie that the Fast & Furious films are, but its also more commercial than other recent racing releases like Rush or Ford v Ferrari, which Pitt nearly starred in years before making F1.
