What CBS' Finale Lineup Means For Its TV Shows

Many Are Staying While Some Are Going

  • Emily Osment's Mandy holds her baby CeeCee and looks suspicious sitting on a couch in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage episode 13
  • Max Thieriot as Bode Leone in Fire Country
  • Matlock Madeline sitting at her desk
  • Jimmy Palmer in NCIS
  • Morris Chestnut talking as Watson

Based on how many of the shows are labeled, coupled with some confirmed renewals in the future, it appears most CBS shows are going to be coming back. This includes FBI season 8 and 9 getting confirmed already, despite the procedural's spinoffs coming to a close. Other shows with confirmed renewals include all three NCIS shows, Matlock, Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, Elsbeth, Fire Country, and Tracker, while Ghosts was renewed for an additional two seasons. The Neighborhood season 8 was also confirmed to be ending the comedy series.

The finales on display here are also ushering in a new era for CBS, which is going to be launching a multitude of new shows based off existing series in the 2025-26 primetime season. This includes the upcoming Blue Bloods spinoff, tentatively titled Boston Blue, starring Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan, and Sheriff Country, a Fire Country spinoff with Morena Baccarin's Mickey. Other shows include an untitled, CIA-focused FBI show and a spinoff of The Equalizer. This indicates a very franchise-focused lineup for the channel into the future.

Almost all the finale dates listed for CBS' lineup are season finales, with only three shows ending for good this year. It appears to be a testament to the strong viewership of most of their series, even if the ones getting cancelled are themselves memorable parts of the network's history. With April and May promising a busy schedule ahead, there are sure to be many big and memorable moments as the 2024-25 season winds down.
