Colter Shaw is on the trail of another small-town crime, and he's about to find a clue with some sinister implications. Collider can share an exclusive sneak peek at "Collision," the upcoming eighteenth episode of Tracker's sophomore season that will take Justin Hartley's lone wolf survivalist to Willow Creek, Michigan. He's been hired by a concerned mother to determine the whereabouts of her daughter, Riley, who hasn't been seen since she mysteriously vanished on her way home from work one day. To get some answers, he links up with Detective Katie to narrow down where exactly Riley could've gone missing.
In the footage, Colter is trying to pinpoint Riley's last location, but he and Katie initially appear to be at a loss. A canvas of the area turned up nothing, and she never appeared on the security cameras at the nearby gas station. Even worse, a phone location ping hasn't been picked up since her disappearance. Colter eventually has a breakthrough when he finds a broken piece on the ground that matches Riley's car, in addition to brake marks leading off the road. He realizes that someone must've been targeting the former beauty queen, given that all signs pointed to her being run off the road. It's now up to Colter and Katie to start exhausting all their options to see if anybody knows anything about the likely kidnapping.
There's more to Riley than meets the eye initially. Before she worked at a local garden center, she had a notable background as a model, which adds another layer to the investigation. Moreover, when Colter starts poking around her work, he finds out that she was hiding a major secret that likely ties into her disappearance. Intrigue will run high in this week's episode of Tracker, and that's without considering the whiff of a new romance for Colter. A previous promo teased a potential connection between him and Katie as he shows off his expert skills at finding people when all hope seems lost.
'Tracker' Continues to Find New Viewers in Season 2
Deep into Season 2, it's safe to say that Tracker is a bit of a revelation for CBS. The series has mostly been pacing broadcast television in ratings since its debut in early 2024, rarely giving up the throne along the way. The Morris Chestnut-led Watson briefly overtook it by posting 18.7 million viewers in 35 days at the start of April, but the results have nonetheless been stellar, especially considering the eye network also boasts the top new series of the year with Matlock. Such a consistently strong viewership naturally earned Ben H. Winters's series an early Season 3 renewal back in February. With four episodes still left after "Collision," there's room to grow, too, and more intense mysteries to solve in a season that has already briefly welcomed Hartley's former Smallville co-star, Jensen Ackles, to the team as Colter's brother.
Tracker Season 2, Episode 18 premieres on Sunday, April 27. Check out our exclusive sneak peek in the player above.
