CBS has set its fall 2025 schedule, which features a Blue Bloods spinoff and three NCIS shows in one night. As more shows continue to be renewed or canceled, CBS is the first broadcast network to release its fall 2025 schedule. NCIS: Origins season 2 is among the high-profile shows that have already been confirmed to be returning in the fall, while Matthew Gray Gubler's Einstein was pushed to the 2026-2027 television season.
As per TVLine, there will be a three-hour NCIS block on Tuesdays, with NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and NCIS: Sydney airing consecutively. Boston Blue, which recently cast Sonequa Martin-Green alongside Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan, will air at 10:00 pm EST on Fridays, which is the same time slot that Blue Bloods had. FBI has moved to Mondays after previously airing on Tuesdays and the Yellowstone spinoff Y: Marshals is not on the schedule as it will not debut until spring 2026. What This Means For NCIS & Other CBS Shows
Tuesdays & Fridays Have A Consistent Structure
In addition to the longevity of NCIS and its increasing number of spinoffs, the franchise now has its own three-hour block on Tuesdays. Fans can now enjoy NCIS season 23 and then go directly into NCIS: Origins season 2 and NCIS: Sydney season 3. The upcoming NCIS: Tony & Ziva is premiering in fall 2025, but it is not included in the franchise's Tuesday lineup because the spinoff will be exclusive to Paramount+ subscribers.
The Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue is looking to follow in the successful footsteps of the original show that ran for 14 seasons by having the same time slot on Friday nights. With Sheriff Country and Fire Country releasing in the hours prior, all three shows coming out on Friday nights come from producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Between NCIS Tuesdays and Bruckheimer Fridays, CBS is going for a level of consistency between the shows releasing on those nights, which creates a more seamless transition between them.

NCIS is one of the clear winners from the CBS fall 2025 schedule, as three hours of consecutive new content will now be available to watch on Tuesdays. In terms of new shows, Fridays look to be the most exciting, as Sheriff Country and Boston Blue are new spinoffs, and it is fitting that Sheriff Country will lead directly into Fire Country. The Thursday lineup of Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, Ghosts, Matlock, and Elsbeth should continue to be strong as well. The combination of new and established shows should make for a compelling fall of CBS television.
