Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Tracker Season 2, Episode 19.In the penultimate episode of Tracker Season 2, "Rules of the Game," it has become quite obvious that there is more to Leonard Sharf (Pej Vahdat) than meets the eye. Okay, we already knew that, but we didn't know exactly how shady this new client of Reenie Greene's (Fiona Rene) was until this episode — and it's not good, folks. The truth is, I was convinced that this guy had something to do with Colter Shaw's (Justin Hartley) mysterious past and the death of his father. But now, that option seems a little less likely. More than anything, I just want Reenie out of there before she becomes the show's next casualty, and I'm furious at her for not wanting the same.
Reenie Needs To Get Away from Sharf Before It's Too Late

In "Rules of the Game," Reenie calls in Colter after Sharf's personal assistant, Francie (Kaylah Zander), suddenly goes missing. Things get even more complicated when the evidence all points to an old business partner of Sharf's, a man he left in the dust on the eve of their company's launch date. Did I mention how shady this guy was? Even worse, as Reenie finds all this out, she is then abducted by the men seemingly responsible for Francie's disappearance. In all the commotion, they shoot and nearly kill Reenie's boyfriend Elliott Rusch (Michael Rady), who Colter stabilizes just in time before he's shuttled off to the hospital.
Although Colter saves Reenie at the eleventh hour just before Francie orders a hit on her (yes, the assistant was behind this all along), Tracker's resident lawyer chooses to continue working for Sharf in the aftermath. Colter can't understand Reenie's blind commitment to the man, who later denied any wrongdoing towards Francie's deceased brother, and, frankly, neither can I. Considering that Reenie has been pretty judgmental toward some of her clients in the past and usually refuses to represent those who she knows are guilty, this play feels a bit out of left field. Regardless of how charismatic this business mogul is or what she thinks she owes him, Reenie ought to quit and not look back.
Earlier in the episode, Reenie even confided to Elliott that she wasn't terribly happy (or comfortable) with the corporate association she was involved in leading up to this episode. No, Reenie isn't an accessory to murder, but she did help Sharf cut his old partner out of his latest startup by digging up some serious blackmail. Of course, had Reenie not previously asked Sharf to help her save Colter in "The Mercy Seat," she would have never been put in this position. Yet, if she hadn't asked, Colter would likely be dead. It's a double-edged sword. However, now that her debt to Sharf has been paid, her reasons for staying feel a bit too thin for us to believe.
'Tracker' Seems to Be Drawing Out the Sharf Plot — and Reenie Is Caught In the Middle

From the moment Elliott first introduced Reenie to her "mysterious client," there has been a lot of buzz about who Sharf really is and what this addition may lead to. We've certainly had our fair share of speculation here. But after "Rules of the Game," it seems that he's nothing more than a super-shady entrepreneur who would rather sacrifice others on the altar of greed than be sacrificed himself. More than that, he is willing to employ others for a time only to throw them under the bus when they become a problem for him, or when he sees a way to make money without their involvement. This track record alone should be a red flag to Reenie, but she seems to either not care enough or has been blinded by something. There's no romantic attraction between them (and there better not be in the future), so it's unclear what that something could be.
The fact that Reenie didn't quit at the end of this episode also means that Tracker has more it wants to do with Leo Sharf. I'm not really sure what that could be at this point, unless he turns out to be supervillain-levels of insane later on. That's possible, sure, but it still doesn't explain how out of character it feels that Reenie is sticking around. In her final conversation with Colter, she explains that she sees some sort of good in Sharf. Colter isn't convinced, and I'm on his side with this. Whether Reenie is blinded by Sharf's bank accounts or she's trying to play him from the inside the same way Francie did, Tracker wants this character around for a reason — guess we just have to wait and see why.
What Could Convince Reenie to Drop Sharf as a Client on 'Tracker'?
At this point, if Colter Shaw himself — with those big, dreamy eyes — couldn't talk Reenie out of leaving Sharf in the dust, there's very little hope that anyone else can. When it was announced that Reenie was opening up her own practice in Season 2, I was thrilled at what sort of cases that may bring to Tracker. We've seen quite a few unique stories this season, all because of this new position that Reenie finds herself in. However, as interesting as the Sharf plot has been, this episode proves that it can only go one of two ways. Either he's not as bad as we've been led to believe, and he'll be a major asset to Colter and Reenie in the future, or he's far worse than we can imagine. I'm expecting the latter, and so far, Tracker hasn't proven me wrong.
If Reenie continues working for Sharf in the highly anticipated Season 3, the show needs to address her reasoning, because right now it feels a bit too flimsy to be well-thought-out or properly understood. I believe in Reenie Greene, but this has got to be the dumbest decision that Tracker has pushed her to. Here's hoping that the writers will address this going forward, and give both us and Colter some peace of mind whenever she and Sharf are in a room together. Right now, we just don't have it.
Tracker airs Sundays on CBS and is available the next day for streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.
