Jensen Ackles Is Back for Multiple (!) Tracker Episodes — Get Exclusive First Look at Colter and Russell in ‘Sinister’ Season 3 Premiere

After everything that Colter Shaw learned vis-à-vis his father’s death, he’s going to need someone to help him make sense of it all. That’s where Jensen Ackles comes in!

TVLine can exclusively reveal the first photo from Tracker‘s Season 3 premiere, which reunites Colter and his previously estranged brother, Russell. We can also confirm that the premiere is a two-parter, and Ackles will appear in both episodes, airing Sunday, Oct. 19 and 26, at 8/7c, on CBS.

Part 1 is titled “The Process,” and the official logline reads as follows:

As Colter grapples with the shocking truth surrounding his father’s death, Russell joins forces with his brother to help track down the missing wife and daughter of one of Reenie’s clients. Their reunion finds them mixed up in a chain of events involving a sinister underground operation known as ‘The Process.’

Ackles most recently appeared in Tracker Season 2, Episode 2, at which point an investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena landed the Shaw brothers in the crosshairs of an unnamed government contractor who previously worked with their late father, Ashton. Then in the Season 2 finale, Colter confronted Otto Waldron, a mysterious lineman who revealed that, yes, he pushed Ashton off a cliff more than 20 years ago. He also alleged that it was Colter and Russell’s mother Mary who asked for his help that night. Help with what, exactly, remains a question mark — and Russell will return to help his brother, who is still in need of answers.

“Jensen is gainfully employed at Amazon [on Countdown and The Boys prequel, Vought Rising], but we’ll take as much of him as we can get,” Tracker showrunner Elwood Reid tells TVLine. “He and I go back because we worked on Big Sky together. He’s got a very, very busy schedule, but I was able to plug him into this hole, and he came up here and did two episodes for me. He’s amazing. I just got done editing Episode 2, and [he and Justin Hartley] are so good together. It’s so much fun.”

As TVLine was first to report, Tracker will be down two cast members in Season 3, following the departures of Eric Graise and Abby McEnany, who played Bobby and Velma, respectively. Hartley will be joined this fall only by returning series regular Fiona Rene, who continues to play legal eagle Reenie Green.
