Love Island USA season 7 couple Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene have officially called it quits after six months together. Chelley and Ace paired up early in the show and nearly made the finals before being eliminated on day 30. As one of the most talked-about couples of their season, they drew significant attention for their dramatic journey in the villa and their post-show dynamic.

Bissainthe recently appeared on Page Six Radio, where she revealed that the pair had decided to part ways amicably, calling it a "really tough decision." Her comments shed new light on how the couple struggled behind the scenes, with her pointing out challenging situations in the relationship as one of the catalysts for their breakup. Read her full comments below:

Ace and I actually decided to part ways. I mean, it really was a tough decision like for the both of us and very hard to decide. But, you know, when you love someone, sometimes loving someone means letting go. So, I think we just got to that decision.

[It came from] A mutual level of respect and understanding that we wanted this to work, but sometimes things don't work. Couples go through things that are very challenging and sometimes the best thing to do is just, you know, make a decision that needs to be made.

When asked about the main reason for their breakup, Bissainthe kept it to herself, saying that she thinks people can understand that out of respect for both of them, details about their breakup "aren't really necessary" and urged their supporters to understand that the pair are "good with being able to be on the same page." The announcement comes weeks after online speculation, with viewers noticing the pair had stopped making public appearances.

While the couple had insisted during the post-season press cycle that they were committed to giving things a real chance, their updates gradually became less frequent, especially after Ace spoke up against Nic and Olandria, a fan-favorite couple, and, as far as audiences thought, one of Ace and Chelley's closest friends in the Villa. By early fall, audiences noticed fewer public appearances and social media interactions, fueling speculation that their relationship had ended.

In the first episode of season 7, Chelley and Ace revealed that they had known each other for years. Since then, the couple faced numerous accusations from viewers who believed their relationship was a strategic "scam" to get screen time, brand deals, or a better shot at winning the competition.

Love Island's Chelley addressed the speculation, saying that "from the very beginning there was an understanding of like our relationship isn't for the press, for the media or anything, like it's because I truly love you, and you truly love me." However, she acknowledged that even with real feelings, relationships just don't work sometimes.
