CBS' S.W.A.T. has delivered high-risk situations and romances worth rooting for since 2017.
Now that the show is in its eighth and final season, fans are preparing to say goodbye to Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson (Shemar Moore) and his S.W.A.T. team in May 2025. (New episodes will continue airing every Friday, with the series finale on May 16.)
CBS originally canceled the police drama in May 2023, only to reverse their decision days later. S.W.A.T. was renewed for a seventh season, which many believed would be its last. Then, a year later, the network ordered a season 8.
The unexpected turn of events explains why audiences have been deprived of scenes between their favorite couple: Hondo and his wife, Nichelle Carmichael (Rochelle Aytes). Aytes was not invited back as a series regular for season 8, per Deadline; instead, she was offered a role on CBS' new medical drama, Watson.
Without a Hondo/Nichelle storyline, the writers of S.W.A.T. have shifted the focus to Miguel "Miko" Alfaro's (Niko Pepaj) red-hot romance with Nicole (Tory Trowbridge), who also happens to be Sergeant David "Deacon" Kay's (Jay Harrington) sister-in-law.
In real life, Pepaj isn't trying to hide his love life from his boss — instead, the actor is publicly smitten with his wife, Alena Abedi. As for Harrington, he's currently dating former Love Island USA star Kierstan Saulter.
Here’s everything to know about the real-life partners of the S.W.A.T. cast.

Shemar Moore
Shemar Moore, who leads the cast of S.W.A.T. as Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson, is currently single and focused on co-parenting his daughter, Frankie, with his ex-girlfriend Jesiree Dizon.
The couple split in January 2025, a few months after Moore told PEOPLE that he's not the marrying type.
"I didn't have a good role model of marriage in my life. Not my mother, not my father. Nobody close to me. I struggle with [it]," the actor said.
Today, Moore and Dizon remain on good terms and continue to raise their daughter.
"Although our reality has changed, what will ALWAYS remain is the love and respect Shemar and i both have for each other," Dizon wrote on Instagram in January 2025.

Similar to Moore, Ilonzeh isn't looking to get married, but she is seeking a "loyal" and "deep" relationship with someone.
"I don't believe in marriage for me," she said during an appearance on Hollywood Unlocked in July 2017. "My parents are still together, so I believe in [marriage]. I believe what that union is."
Ilonzeh also shared that she doesn't foresee having children of her own. "As long as I'm a mother figure, my life will have purpose," she added.

David Lim and Marketa Lim
David Lim, who portrays S.W.A.T. officer Victor Tan, has been married to model Marketa Lim since May 2019.
The couple are partners in both life and business. David and Marketa launched the jewelry brand Maya David in 2024 after their home was burglarized and many of their most sentimental accessories were stolen.
"We lost pieces that meant a lot to us. It wasn’t about the material value — it was about the memories tied to them. That’s when we realized how powerful jewelry can be," the actor told Miami Living magazine in February 2025.
"Marketa wears a sunstone bracelet I made for her every day—it represents the start of something new for us," David added.

Rochelle Aytes, who portrayed Hondo's wife, Nichelle Carmichael, is also married in real life. The actress and her husband, fellow actor CJ Lindsey, tied the knot in August 2016 at the Tappan Hill Mansion in New York.
In honor of the couple's eighth wedding anniversary, Lindsey penned a sweet post about his wife on Instagram.
