Melissa Roxburgh Is Coming Back to ‘Tracker’! Inside the Return of Colter Shaw’s Sister Dory Shaw

It’s official – Melissa Roxburgh is coming back to Tracker as Dory Shaw. Her return is set for the episode titled “Rules of the Game,” which will air on May 4.

“Colter’s sister, Dory, delivers a mysterious piece of the Shaw family’s past,” executive producer Elwood Reid said of Melissa’s return episode, per TV Insider.

In new photos obtained by the outlet, Dory is seen chatting with brother Colter Shaw in his Airstream. In a previous conversation with the outlet, the Hunting Party actress teased that she would be back on Tracker in season 2.

“I got to go play with them again,” Melissa, 32, said. “It was just short and sweet. But hopefully there’s more for the next season because I know they got another season.”

“It’s more just building the relationship and setting up for whatever comes next with the siblings,” she added about the episode.

Last viewers heard, Dory had been keeping a box full of their dad’s things that she had yet to share with Colter and older brother Russell Shaw. The Shaw family’s relationship is rather complicated, as Colter seems like the one who is most determined to find more answers about his father’s murder. Russell already denied having anything to do with the death of Ashton Shaw, despite following him into the woods on the night of his murder.

However, Justin Hartley, who plays Colter and serves as an executive producer on the show, warned fans not to expect Ashton’s case to be solved in season 2.

“I don’t like the idea of wrapping things up in a pretty little bow just for the sake of the fact that it’s the final episode of the season, and so we write to the plot so that everyone’s like, oh, great, everything’s perfect and fine, and we can go and make a third season,” the This Is Us alum told TV Insider in February.

“I don’t really like that idea. I’m not really interested in that,” he continued. “I’m more interested in propelling the story in a way that makes sense, and if it ends up being four episodes or 44 episodes or 144 episodes to tell the most compelling story, then that’s what it is. Not just trying to get more episodes in the bag or trying to finish a story in time. I think there’s a beautiful way to tell a story in sort of the best way, and I think that’s what we should do. And all the writers are on board with that, too, everyone wants to do that.”

Tracker has already been renewed for season 3 after the show’s first two seasons proved to be a ratings hit on CBS.

“CBS announced today that it has renewed nine additional series for the 2025-2026 broadcast season. The renewed CBS Original series include #1 entertainment series TRACKER, #1 comedy GEORGIE & MANDY’S FIRST MARRIAGE, #1 new unscripted series HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, plus ELSBETH, FIRE COUNTRY, NCIS, NCIS: ORIGINS and NCIS: SYDNEY. Additionally, the Network has ordered two more seasons of hit comedy GHOSTS, taking the series through the 2026-2027 season,” a February press release from the network said.
