New ‘NCIS’ Promo Teases a Concerning Outcome as McGee and Laroche’s Feud Comes to a Head

Everyone has been trying to convince McGee (Sean Murray) that his feelings about Deputy Director Gabriel Laroche (Seamus Deaver) stem from jealousy, but he has remained adamant that there is something off about the man. McGee is about to be proven right in the penultimate episode of NCIS Season 22 as Laroche's true colors come out when he's cornered. "McGee’s career and credibility are on the line when he investigates the deputy director for corruption. Also, Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and Knight (Katrina Law) receive some surprising news," reads the logline for NCIS Season 22, Episode 19, "Irreconcilable Differences." CBS released a sneak peek of the episode airing on Monday, April 28, showing McGee's attempt to prove his concerns, but Laroche is right next to him and wishes to stop McGee once and for all.

It can be very hard to prove to people that what you're claiming is true, especially when they've written you off. McGee is in this boat as he tries to convince Parker (Gary Cole) and the rest of the team that some odd things that have happened in past cases are connected to Laroche. Even when Parker says he believes McGee, it doesn't seem believable. Left with no option, the latter decides to investigate by himself, but he might have overestimated his own stealthiness. When Laroche surprises him, McGee is left staring down the barrel of a cocked gun. If what Laroche is suspected of is true, then McGee is in grave danger since Laroche does not hold life in high regard. Will McGee survive?

Parker's Nemesis Returns in the 'NCIS' Season 22 Finale

The season wraps up on May 5 with the finale, "Nexus." As McGee deals with his frenemy in next week's episode, Parker will deal with his nemesis, Carla Marino, in the season finale. "As NCIS investigates a dangerous connection between the Nexus cartel and Parker’s longtime nemesis, mob boss Carla Marino, the team uncovers a high-stakes plot involving stolen nuclear material. With time running out, Parker is forced into an uneasy alliance that could determine the fate of the operation – and his own future," reads the logline for NCIS Season 22, Episode 20. The arc has all the trappings of an exciting cliffhanger. Viewers should rest easy knowing that NCIS will return for Season 23 in the 2025-2026 TV season, so all answers will be availed.

Tune in to CBS next Monday to watch "Irreconcilable Differences" and learn McGee's fate. Stay tuned to Collider for more NCIS updates.
