Reacher Season 4 Is Changing Ritchson’s New Love Interest In One Major Way

Reacher season 4 is introducing one major change to the titular character's love interest, which raises many questions about how else she will be different from her book counterpart. Book changes are not always appreciated by readers of the source material, but this change makes sense because of one story beat from Reacher season 3.

With each new season, Prime Video's Reacher has introduced a new love interest for the Alan Ritchson character. While some viewers have found this trend a little annoying, others have appreciated that the show stays true to Lee Child's original Jack Reacher books by bringing a new love interest with every new installment.

Regardless of what one thinks about the show's approach towards Reacher's romantic partners, it is hard not to appreciate how the show approaches the books' characters. Reacher season 4 is also making an interesting adjustment to the titular character's love interest from Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow.

Theresa Lee's Name From Gone Tomorrow Has Been Changed To Tamara Green In Reacher Season 4

No Other Changes About The Character Have Been Revealed So Far

In Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow, Theresa Lee is introduced as a Homicide Detective in the New York Police Department. The NYPD detective joins Jack Reacher in his new investigative journey in the book and briefly becomes a romantic interest for the character. Interestingly, as reports have confirmed, Theresa Lee's name has been changed to Tamara Green in the show.

Given how Reacher's seasons 1, 2, and 3 accurately adapted their respective books and did not even change the names of most main characters, it is a little surprising that Theresa Lee's name has been changed. She is being portrayed by Sydelle Noel, who is best known for her role in GLOW.

Here are a few set photos of Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green on the sets of Reacher season 4:

The character's name change does not suggest that her narrative, too, will be different in the series from the original book. However, it still makes it hard not to wonder why the creative decision was made. While no official statements have confirmed why Theresa's name has been changed to Tamara, one story beat from Reacher season 3 might already have answers.

In Reacher season 3, Storm Steenson portrayed one of the primary side characters, Teresa. Although Teresa did not have much screen time, she was used as a plot device to explain why Susan Duffy was so dead set on catching Xavier Quinn. Since Teresa's rescue was one of Reacher's key missions in Reacher season 3, her name was consistently dropped throughout the installment.
