Shemar Moore Rallies Fans After CBS Cancels ‘S.W.A.T.’ Again—Hopes for Netflix Lifeline

After a rollercoaster ride spanning eight seasons, S.W.A.T. star Shemar Moore is taking a stand—this time, not on-screen, but on social media. Following CBS’s decision to cancel the popular police drama once again, Moore isn’t just expressing disappointment—he’s extending an open invitation to rival networks and streaming platforms to give the show a second life.

In a heartfelt and impassioned video shared with his 4 million-plus Instagram followers, Moore delivered a message that blended gratitude, frustration, and optimism. Though he thanked CBS for supporting his 31-year-long television journey, he didn’t mince words about the cancellation.

“I don’t think you’re making the right choice,” Moore said, directly addressing CBS. But rather than accepting the fate of S.W.A.T., Moore made it clear he and the rest of the cast aren’t ready to hang up their badges just yet.

Turning his focus to the streaming giants, Moore delivered a pointed pitch to Netflix. “Hey Netflix, how you doing?” he said. “Let me remind you that once upon a time, it only took us two weeks to go from number 15 to number one in your rankings. And then we stayed in your top 10, top 15 for months.” He added with a smile, “If you’re interested in a show that’s on autopilot and the world is watching, we’d love to come play.”

But it wasn’t just Netflix in his sights. Moore gave a friendly nudge to other networks as well: “NBC, Fox, ABC—want to flirt with me? You’re invited to the barbecue. Pick your favorite restaurant, I’ll pay the bill.”

Moore’s enthusiasm is more than just talk. He reminded fans that the S.W.A.T. cast and crew still have the fire to deliver the kind of high-octane action fans have come to expect. “We ain’t done chasing bad guys,” he declared. “We’re not finished with helicopter chases, motorcycle chases, car chases, blowing stuff up—we’re not done.”

CBS’s latest cancellation comes after a tumultuous history with the show. S.W.A.T. was previously axed in May 2023 after six successful seasons, only to be revived days later for a seventh—and what was then labeled the “final”—season. Defying expectations yet again, the show was renewed for an eighth season in 2024. Now, just a year later, CBS has officially pulled the plug once more.

Moore was candid about the unusual circumstances, noting the rarity of a show being canceled twice in back-to-back years. “I don’t know my history, but how many shows can say that?” he mused. “I’m going to say none—or close to none. But we did that.”

Despite the network’s final decision, Moore emphasized the legacy S.W.A.T. has built. “We defied the odds. We made a hit television show that the world loved to watch,” he said. And while he acknowledged that CBS’s choice likely stemmed from “money, optics, and politics,” he also made it clear that his appreciation for the network runs deep. “If you are done, I say thank you—genuinely, honestly, from my heart.”

Set to wrap up its run this May, S.W.A.T. still has a loyal fanbase and a committed cast eager to continue the story. Moore’s message is more than a farewell—it’s a rallying cry for another chance.

As the curtain closes on the CBS chapter of S.W.A.T., the future remains uncertain—but hopeful. With Moore at the helm and a fanbase still tuned in, there’s a real possibility the series could find a new home. Whether it’s Netflix, NBC, or another platform entirely, the message is clear: S.W.A.T. isn’t finished yet.

For now, fans will have to wait and see who answers the call.
