TV Couples We Need Together in 2025: From Summer I Turned Pretty’s Belly, Conrad to 9-1-1’s Buck, Eddie

Fan-favorite TV couples like The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Belly and Conrad, 9-1-1‘s Buck and Eddie and The Rookie‘s Tim and Lucy deserve to finally get together on screen in 2025.

Belly and Conrad’s love story has been destined to happen since Jenny Han wrote the Summer I Turned Pretty book franchise. The hit Prime Video show, which premiered in 2022, focuses on a love triangle between Belly (Lola Tung), Conrad (Christopher Briney) and his brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). After exploring her feelings for Conrad, Belly starts to reconsider whether Jeremiah is her perfect match.

The Summer I Turned Pretty has been renewed for season 3 and it will presumably take inspiration from the We’ll Always Have Summer novel. There is also the question of whether The Summer I Turned Pretty will end after its third season. Viewers have assumed that season 3 might be the last because the book series only had three novels. Prime Video, meanwhile, seemingly has plans to expand the Summer I Turned Pretty universe.

As for The Bear, Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and Sydney (Ayo Edebiri)’s journey is not without its obstacles. Fans showed their support for a potential romance between Carmy and Sydney because they remained at the heart of the show — despite both White and Edebiri questioning whether their characters should just remain friends.

“They got a lot of trauma on both sides. Like, if even that [was explored] — I don’t think that window is open,” Edebiri exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2023. “But if it were, there would need to be, like, two seasons where it’s just them doing therapy individually before that would even be an option.”

Gibbs and Lala ('NCIS: Origins')

Since fans have collectively decided that Lala (Mariel Molino) is definitely the inspiration for rule 12, the least NCIS: Origins can do is make that canon. The NCIS prequel has already laid out just how important Lala is to Gibbs (Austin Stowell) when they revealed that the show is actually her story — and not his. Luckily season 1 isn't over yet, so there's plenty of time for Gibbs and Lala to at least admit their feelings for each other.

Conrad and Belly (‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’)

We’ve all read We'll Always Have Summer and we’vealso all watched Briney and Tung share the screen the past two seasons, so let's not pretend we don't know where this is going. Since season 3 is presumably the show's final season, The Summer I Turned Pretty should spend less time pretending Belly isn't choosing Conrad at the end and more time showing off that one-of-a-kind dynamic that most shows would kill to have in their shows.

But before Belly and Conrad become a couple, all we ask is an accurate book-to-screen translation of the scene on the beach where Conrad declares his love for Belly before her wedding day. Please and thank you, Jenny Han.

JJ and Kiara ('Outer Banks')

Just because JJ (Rudy Pankow) died doesn't mean Outer Banks can't find a way to write their wrong. Season 4 specifically introduced some magic crown that has the power to bring someone back and if that isn't meant to tie back to JJ's heartbreaking death then what is the point of any of this? If Outer Banks can bring back John B's (Chase Stokes) father for a lackluster storyline, then they can find a way for JJ to return after losing major trust with their audience by killing off such an important character.

Tim and Lucy ('The Rookie')

Speaking of writing wrongs, Us loves angst when it comes to our favorite TV couples. But enough is enough. Tim (Eric Winter) took just about everyone off guard when he decided to end his relationship with Lucy (Melissa O'Neil) so the least he can do is rectify that when the show returns for season 7.

Morgan and Karadec ('High Potential')

Procedurals have been killing it with new couples, but there's just something special about Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) and Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). According to the show's leads, we are in it for the long haul, which doesn't sound like the worst place to be. The best fictional relationships are usually the ones worth the wait.

Rivals Alex Hassell and Bella MacLean Discuss Rupert and Taggie s Age Gap Romance And Their Bumpy Season 2 Journey

Rupert and Taggie ('Rivals')

It's the age gap romance that probably got you hooked on Rivals. When the series originally premiered, it seemed impossible to imagine just how much Rupert (Alex Hassell) and Taggie (Bella MacLean)'s storyline would drive to show forward. But with them finally sharing a kiss in the season 1 finale — and the show officially getting renewed — it feels like only a matter of time before they make things official. If no more obstacles get in their way.

Sydney and Carmy (‘The Bear’)

Season 3 tried to prove that Sydney and Carmy weren't a good match. All that did though was show how much The Bear hinges on White and Edebiri's dynamic. The platonic excuse just doesn't work here anymore when you have to keep your main characters apart for an entire season because their chemistry is too tempting for the fans.

Instead of running away from what works for the show, The Bear should just embrace it.

Buck and Eddie (‘9-1-1’)

We have never been as close to a potential romance between Eddie (Ryan Guzman) and Buck (Oliver Stark) than this very moment. Not only did 9-1-1 clear the path by having Buck and Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) call it quits, but they introduced the classic storyline where Eddie decides to move from L.A. to Texas. Suddenly, Buck seems to come to a realization that he might be losing Eddie. If this isn't a set-up for Buck to declare his feelings then what was all that for?

Emmett and Bobbie ('Happy's Place')

NBC knew exactly what they were doing, casting Reba McEntire's real-life boyfriend, Rex Linn, to star opposite her on Happy's Place. Not only has their chemistry been off the charts but Linn has been killing it with Emmett's subtle moments of yearning for McEntire's Bobbie. Let 2025 be the year NBC jumps on that potential.

Jackie and Cole ('My Life With the Walter Boys')

My Life With the Walter Boys technically has Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez) caught between her feelings for Cole (Noah LaLonde) and Alex Walter (Ashby Gentry). But as any love triangle fan knows, there's always one option that is more obviously destined for endgame than the other. In this case, that is Cole so Netflix might as well just go there.

Steve and Nancy (‘Stranger Things’)

Not one to conform to the obvious choice, Us is on the frontlines hoping that Stranger Things will shake things up ahead of its series finale by not going with Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) as the endgame couple. Instead, the show should finish what they started by having Nancy rekindle her connection with Steve (Joe Keery).

Bode and Gabriela ('Fire Country')

After all the back and forth, Bode (Max Thieriot) and Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) should just get together to put Us out of this misery. Fire Country is doing everything it can to keep Bode and Gabriela apart. So, either they commit to the bit and officially rule them out as a couple, or they do the practical thing and explore Bode and Gabriela's chemistry while there are still hints of it left.

Everything to Know About Maxton Hall Season 2

James and Ruby ('Maxton Hall')

Maxton Hall's highly-anticipated return starts off with Ruby (Harriet Herbig-Matten) and James (Damian Hardung) as a couple but (spoiler alert!) that might not last long. The books that the show are inspired by hint at some infidelity and a split that will likely wreck Us. This is why we are asking that Maxton Hall not leave Us in suspense and find a way to bring Ruby and James back together as quickly as possible.

Mariska Hargitay Doesnt Know If Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler Are Endgame on SVU

Benson and Stabler (‘Law & Order: SVU’)

Fans have waited nearly 25 years for Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Christopher Meloni) to just get together already. What's another season? They might be on different shows but there's literally no one else for either of them that could compare to the onscreen heat between Hargitay and Meloni.

We get it, Law & Order: SVU doesn't want to do the predictable thing. However, at this point, Benson and Stabler becoming a couple might be the most unpredictable — and brave — thing the show ever does.

Tyler and Wednesday (‘Wednesday’)

The odds are absolutely stacked against Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) and Tyler (Hunter Doohan) since the lead is vehemently against romance on the show. That hasn't stopped Us before and it won't now. There would be nothing more Wednesday Addams than having her dating a monster like a Hyde. Perhaps season 2 will surprise Us by exploring that surprisingly steamy tension instead of hiding from it.

Max, Avery and Tristan ('Doctor Odyssey')

What should a show do when it feels impossible to pick a side in its central love triangle? Just put everyone together. Not only did the ABC series somehow manage to have Us rooting for Avery (Phillipa Soo), Max (Joshua Jackson) and Tristan (Sean Teale) all at once, but now there's that paternity twist. Since Avery is pregnant after a threesome — and she doesn't know who the dad is — Doctor Odyssey should take one for the team and refuse to choose.

Kitty and Yuri ('XO, Kitty')

There are a few places that season 2 of XO, Kitty can go. Kitty (Anna Cathcart) technically has chemistry with a few people, but there's something about her feelings for Yuri (Gia Kim) that is different. XO, Kitty shouldn't shy away from that and instead explore what this means for Kitty now that she's clued into her evolving sexuality.

Kitty and Min Ho ('XO, Kitty')

On the other hand, Kitty and Min Ho's (Sang Heon Lee) chemistry is too good to ignore. XO, Kitty has teased that their journey isn't over and maybe it is because they are the couple that is meant to be together at the end of the show.

Emily and Alfie ('Emily in Paris')

Only Emily in Paris would find a way to introduce multiple love triangles with many of the same players. Emily's conflicting feelings for Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) became a bit tiresome to watch, so she chose the chef. But then that didn't work out and she found herself forming a connection with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini).

In Us' expert opinion, season 5 should either be about Emily finding her way back to Alfie or taking inspiration from Bravo's suggestion of a throuple.

Billie and Colter ('Tracker')

CBS loves to tease Us by having Justin Hartley's wife, Sofia Pernas, on the show here and there. But those little glimpses at their dynamic just proves that Colter (Hartley) and Billie (Pernas) belong together. Either have Pernas come on as a full-time cast member or give her a spinoff with the potential for crossovers with Tracker.

Ty and Annie ('Sweet Magnolias')

Ty (Carson Rowland) and Annie (Anneliese Judge) have been a fan-favorite pairing since the Netflix hit premiered in 2020. After season 3 premiered in 2023, Ty and Annie appeared to be on the cusp of going from friends to something more. Then there was a delay in new episodes that has Us still currently waiting to see where their relationship goes from here.

Brie and Brady ('Virgin River')

There's something extra special about a couple calling it quits — only to find their way back to each other. Speaking of waiting for shows to come back, Virgin River is another Netflix classic that has Us on the edge of our seat waiting to see if Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) and Brie (Zibby Allen) could reconcile and make things work the second time around.

Ellis and Max ('Wild Cards')

Despite ending on not the greatest of terms, there's no denying that Wild Cards was renewed for a second season because of the onscreen chemistry between Vanessa Morgan and Giacomo Gianniotti. They don't have to become a couple yet but they need to admit to their feelings at least.

Monica and Amelia ('Grey's Anatomy')

There's something subtle brewing between Monica (Natalie Morales) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) during season 21 of Grey's Anatomy. Something tells Us fans should settle in and watch that unexpected spark unfold when the show comes back in early 2025.
